Chicago park district

Brand Identity | Brand Architecture | Brand Strategy

Since 2011, The Chicago Park District has been working to reclaim thousands of acres of natural lands across the Southeast Side. Located on former steel mills and brownfields, these parks offer a rare blend of industrial history, natural history, and wildlife. Telling the story of this region’s history was imperative to promoting the unique assets and outdoor recreation opportunities these parks have to offer.

Bright greens and graphic greys merge the region’s industrial past with its vibrant present. A robust website featuring work from local Chicago photographer, Alyssa Shukar, was developed as a hub for information and programming, and a Junior Ranger Adventure Guide — with no less than 60 pages of custom illustration — serves as a tool for deeper exploration for young park-goers.
